Utilities & Services
Ensure that you have disconnected your connection for Phone, Gas, Electricity and Internet at your present home and have arranged for its reconnection at your new home.
Change of Address
Remember to notify about your change of address to your major service providers: Health Fund, Phone, Banks, Newspaper, Mobile, Charity, Magazines and others.
Other Services
You should also arrange for other useful services like: Cleaners, Storage, Trailer Hire, Truck Hire, Furniture Hire etc.

4 Weeks To Go
- Arrange to get Quotes from the Moving Companies.
- Settle all your Outstanding Bills.
- Create an Inventory List of items you want to move and put it in separate categories, like: Moving, Storage, Giveaway, Garage Sale etc.
- Check for some general information in the new city, like, Local Supermarkets, Hospital, Petrol Station, Local School for children, and Child Care Facilities etc.
- Create a back up for your Computer Hard Disk. Ensure that the Printer, Scanner is ready to move. Check the Manufacture’s Warranty if needed.
- Arrange for your Family’s Dental, School, Medical and Vet Records.
- Notify your landlord about the vacation of the premise. Clear all your outstanding debts.
- In order to recoup any bond owing to you, you can arrange for a Property Inspection.
- Recheck your Home Insurance & Car Insurance.
3 Weeks To Go
- Begin packing those items that are not often used, e.g., those that are stored in Basement, Attic or Garage.

- Do remember to arrange for Rubbish Removals.
- Drain & Disassemble Waterbeds ready for transport.

- Move all your valuables to a Safety Deposit Box, out of anybody’s reach. Carry this box just before the moving day.
- Make your Travel Booking, that is, plan your route, travel stop and accommodation.
- Arrange to have sufficient cash to cover the move.
- Confirm your move with the new Real Estate Agent or Landlord at your new location.

2 Weeks To Go
- Return all your Videos, DVDs, and Library Books.
- Plan for any special needs for your children, before or after the move, such as medication, food, care and entertainment.
- Organize a Garage Sale.
- Create an Inventory List while you are packing; attach it to each box as you are packing. Make a copy of the every box you pack.
1 Week To Go
- Arrange for the disconnection and reconnection of gas, phone, electricity and Internet with the moving company.
- Plan for spending your last night at your old address. Plan how will you celebrate or say good bye to your old home.
- List the name, email address and telephone numbers of Friends, Families and Business Contacts like: Lawyer, Accountant, Financial Planner etc.
- Plan to use any remaining food in your Refrigerator during the last few days of your stay.
- Defrost and clean the refrigerator 2 days before the move. Use Baking Soda to dispel any odor.
- Pack your personal luggage last. Carry your jewelry, valuable documents and registered mail by yourself.
- Take your valuables out of safety deposit box.
- Make sure to prepare your meals prior on the day of moving and also after.
- Transfer your Bank Accounts to a convenient location.
- Repair and clean your General Household.
- Advise the Government Authorities as appropriate.
- Have a final clean-out and dispose out from Sink, Garage and Laundry.
- Drain fuel from the lawnmower as also from other machinery.
- Gather all the keys of your old house, collect all the spare keys from your friends and families.
- You can send an e-card to everyone stating your removal.
- Collect the instruction books for Stove, Dishwasher, and Security System and leave them for the new owner.

After The Move

- Visit the Local Shops and decide which shop is suitable for Parking, Price and convenience.
- Make your pet familiar with your new home as soon as possible. Keep your cats inside your new house at least for a week.
