Are you comfortable in a place where everybody knows your name? If yes, then small town living is perfect for you.
There are certain things that differ considerably between living in a small town and a big city.
- In a small town, people are closely knit, and everybody knows one another.
- Crime is usually minimal in small towns. Every one knows each other well, so violence among one another is rare. Some even feel so secure that they leave their doors unlocked even when they are not at home.
- Community involvement and volunteerism are other important characteristics of small town living.
If you are moving from a big city to a small town, it obviously requires a lot of adjustment, but there are situations where you have to relocate. It may be for your profession or for some other personal reason. If you want to start your career as a ski instructor, you may have settle in a small mountainous town.
Whatever the case, if you fed up with the noise and hustle bustle of city life, make a change and experience the life of a small town. You may miss the excitement of a big city, but you can concentrate on family values, enjoy a higher standard of living--such as fair housing and more affordable services--and also slow down the pace of your life. |
